Developer API Documentation

Integrate programmatic file conversions into your backend pipeline with our REST API. The API runs on the same conversion engine as the website, covering images, PDF, data, video, audio, office documents and ebooks.

Base URL & Authentication

The API is served from this site's origin. No authentication is required yet, key-based access and quotas ship together with the paid tiers.

Quickstart cURL Example: Convert PNG to WebP

Send a multipart upload with the target output format; stream back binary output directly:

Without ?mode=stream the response is JSON containing metadata and a base64-encoded payload. Supported options include quality, width, height, rotation (PDF), and pageRange (PDF).

Error Semantics

UNSUPPORTED_CONVERSION (HTTP 422), no converter exists for the requested pair; the body lists every supported target for your source format.
FILE_TOO_LARGE (HTTP 413), upload exceeds the configured maximum.
INVALID_REQUEST (HTTP 400), malformed form data or options JSON.
CONVERSION_FAILED (HTTP 422) , valid pair but the input could not be processed (corrupt file etc).

Query GET /api/tools?slug=<tool> to read a tool's details and its boolean implemented field.
